Core-less
One of my favorite things to do is to row on Humboldt Bay. I belong to the Humboldt Bay Rowing Club which makes it all possible for not only 12 - 18 year olds (juniors) but a bunch of old folks (masters) to row on our beautiful bay on a regular basis. AND we get to compete in regattas all over California and a few places in Oregon, too. As much fun as it is, there are times when it's a heck of a lot of hard work, physically and mentally, all for a race that lasts (hopefully) less than 4 minutes on the water. That's a 1000M sprint race for the masters. The juniors cover twice that distance in less than twice that time. They're faster and stronger and, well let's face it, half our age, and usually taller. We shrink as we age, right? And if we're not careful, we start to look like Core-less up there. He's a bit lopsided and doesn't sit up straight, all because he didn't do his core strengthening exercises. (Either that or he's been drinking, which would explain why he's eyes are all googly.) So let Core-less be a reminder...to sit tall on the water and in life, you gotta be kind to your core! Oh, and don't forget to floss.
