Butterflies in the Garden

There were butterflies in the garden! Not just the one or two I remembered last summer, but hundreds of monarch butterflies, so many that the sky was a Jackson Pollock painting  of blue and orange. This mirage was brought to me by the PBS Nova episode,  The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies. That along with the foggy soggy weather of the North Coast have me dreaming in vibrant colors. Or maybe it was the ice cream I had for dinner.
